Virtual Getting Started Events - 2020 Applicants
To ensure the safety of our students and staff, we have decided to make our 2020 induction events a virtual experience: allowing our new students to meet more of our team, learn more about their courses and ask
any questions they might have, just as they would have done if we were holding this event in the sixth form, but from the comfort of their own home!..
‘Getting Started 2020’ – 22nd June 2020
Your Getting Started Event will be held through the new ‘JC6 Getting Started 2020’ Facebook group, designed to give all of our new students the opportunity to get to know each other as well as us, before
joining in September. This group is open to parents/carers too, if they wish to join.
Very much in the same way that Facebook groups are used for university students to get to know each other before their first day, we hope that this platform will allow you to start to feel part of the JC6 community.
Please join the Facebook group as soon as possible, as the Getting Started Day will be held within the group on Monday 22nd June 2020, with a full schedule of presentations, welcome videos, tips on preparing for joining us, competitions, information regarding next steps/events and Q&A sessions throughout the day.
To request to join the group please search JC6 Getting Started 2020 on Facebook or follow the link below:
Please answer the three security questions when you submit your request, including entering the group password which has been emailed to all applicants.
(Not received the password? Don’t worry! Email firstname.lastname@example.org )
‘Live Links’ at lunchtime –23rd June 2020 onwards
It doesn’t stop there! This year, to get you started, we will also be using the Facebook group to create regular ‘Live Links’ between you and our specialist teaching staff. Starting on the 23rd June, every week day between 1-2pm, our subject specialists will be taking it in turns to focus on a different JC6 course, sharing welcome messages, FAQ’s and key information prior to you joining us, as well as being available to answer your questions live through the group and JC6 messenger function. More details and a subject schedule coming soon!
Don’t have Facebook access? Don’t worry! – If you don’t have Facebook, but your parent/carer does, then they are welcome to join the group in your place. If you can’t access Facebook we will also make sure that content is made available on our website after each event - https://www.jc6.org/support-academic-support-hinckley#getting-started-at-jc6.
If you have any questions please email email@example.com and a member of our team will get back to you as soon as they can.
