Christmas Bazaar 2019
The annual Christmas Bazaar is a rite of passage for all Year 12 students at JC6, with a long-standing history of students working together to raise a substantial amount of money for charities close to their hearts. Twenty nineteen was no different, with students and staff creating a fun and festive extravaganza for younger Hinckley Academy students to remember for years to come.
For the Bazaar each Year 12 tutor group had to plan and run a stall, working on pricing, marketing and stock management along the way. Once set up, the stalls were then enjoyed by each younger year group in turn, from hot chocolate stations and pick and mix stands, to photo booths and face
painting – there was something for everyone to enjoy! Level 3 Foundation student Alfie worked on his stall as part of an AOPE unit, raising money for an additional charity, National Children’s Deaf Society, for him the best part of the Bazaar was: “watching everyone take part and having fun, I really enjoyed it!”
This year students showed their support for Save the Children and ASSET, Anthony Nolan by organising another successful festive event. The total raised was in excess of £1,100 - a fantastic amount and the second year running students have hit a four-figure total! Head of JC6, Janet Paterson said: “The Christmas Bazaar is always a highlight of the JC6 calendar. Every year our students work hard to create entertaining and unique stalls for younger students to enjoy.” All staff were impressed by students innovative thinking, creativity and team work, as well as the generosity of students donating at the Bazaar.
Well done to Year 12!
