ALUMNI STORY - Natasha (Class of 2018)

"I studied Health and Social Care at JC6 and we had a student paramedic come into class and speak to us and that inspired me to go into paramedic training as I knew I wanted to work in the health care sector but hadn’t decided what I wanted to do yet."

“After leaving sixth form, I moved to Stafford as I received an unconditional offer at Staffordshire University to study Paramedic Science. The teachers at JC6 were very supportive in helping me achieve the grades I needed to get into the course. Even though I didn’t study a Science subject I was able to get in because of doing Health and Social Care. In most of my coursework pieces for each subject I received a Distinction and even did an extended course for CPDL to get more UCAS points and show my willingness to learn.”

"During the first lockdown I was working as an Ambulance Clinical Assistant alongside my paramedic training to help out with COVID which as you can imagine was extremely busy and also provided massive experience in dealing with patients in more vulnerable situations."

My advice for future JC6 students would be to, “just keep your head focussed on what you want to achieve. If you put the hard work in you will get there.”
